Some links I’ve collected over the past week that I think are interesting. Hope you like them!
Levi’s, who happen to be one of my favorite (and not to mention most reliable fit-wise for me) jeans brands, is currently hosting a music project called Levi’s® Pioneer Sessions 2010 Revival Recordings.
The project consists of getting current pioneering artists from a range of genres, such as She & Him and Nas, and having them cover classic songs that mean something to them.
The songs are all free (you just need to provide your e-mail address) and are accompanied by behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the artists. It’s all pretty cool and I highly recommend going and cashing in on the free downloads.
I follow the hypnotic blog Olsen’s Anonymous (it’s even in my blog roll over there on the right!) which features, not so surprisingly, picture of the Olsen twins living their fabulous lives. On June 13th, which happened to be the twins 24th birthday coincidentally, the blog posted some pictures of Mary Kate Olsen leaving a cafe in NYC.
What’s interesting about that you say? DO YOU SEE THAT BAG?! That bag is made of awesomeness, it has fangs and claws! I want it. Badly. Who is it by? I can barely sleep I’m so haunted by it awesomeness.
Planning on traveling sometime soon? Maybe just wishing you could travel? Kayak.com’s Explore feature is perfect for those with some wanderlust creeping up on them!
Choose your price range, when you’re thinking about going, which can be as specific as month or vague as Fall 2011 or any time, where you’re flying from and have the option to choose available activities, languages and temperatures and Kayak will make a nifty little map featuring the price a ticket to there will cost.
While the graphic I grabbed only shows this side of the pond, the map includes the whole world! While maybe you won’t be able to leave anytime soon, it sure is fun to tinker with the settings and see how far your money could take you.
The blog Joyful Abode recently posted a scrumptious looking recipe for homemade peppermint patties! I, a hearty enjoyer of York Peppermint Patties, heartily approve of this, especially since these, according to Joyful Abode, are a slightly more healthy version of the those delicious discs of joy.
Craft’s got a really cute tutorial up on how to make a one-shouldered ruffle shirt from your regular old t-shirt. This tutorial may even be just simple enough for me to actually attempt! And look at how adorable it is!
Rarely do easy instructions+sewing= good-looking items, so this is a bit of a tour de force as far as I can see.
Also, you should just check out Craft.com as well as their blog, it’s pretty inspiring and informative if you have any inclination toward DIY. I have lots of inclination, very little actual motivation (what can I say, I’m sort of in a rut at the moment but can’t seem to get myself going). I honestly own so many sewing and craft books and yet do pretty much zero of either. Someday though…I’ll make something handmade and ugly. And won’t tell you about it.
Do you have any good stories or links to share? Maybe an opinion or thought on my links? Fire away in the comments!
