Flying High on the Cute ’60s

I’ve been a fan of the adorable looks of the ’60s for a while, I mean who isn’t a sucker for cat eye makeup? This new video combines my love of that AND the singer Kate Nash, who is always funny, clever and so easy to relate with in her songs. LOVE IT!

Tooth and Nail

Today I learned that my family dog, Colonel, eats his own toenail clippings. And my mom lets him. Disgusting.

He is adorable though, and it’s hard to say no to that face of his.

He is 130 pounds of dorky sweetness. He actually hates having his nails trimmed and pretty much refuses to allow it to happen. You have to have two people for the operation, one to distract him by scratching his ears and another brave soul to grab his paw and start cutting away as fast as they can before Colonel’s slow mind realizes that something is afoot (ho, ho, pun intended!). You normally get one to three nails done before he notices, I think it relies somewhat on the quality of the ear scratching.

I love Colonel despite his gross habits and the fact he came bursting in my room a few days ago at 5am to barf on my rug which was, as you can imagine, not too endearing. Also he looks a bit like a walrus or seal or something, which is cute.

I swear he fell asleep like this on this own!

Fun Fact: Colonel smells like dirty Cheetos. And he (normally) hasn’t been eating Cheetos. I think this might not be a good sign for Cheetos.
